We are in the middle of rolling out a Community Energy Project with Solar (PV) on the roof areas of our local Lady Hawkins School and the adjacent Leisure centre.It needs fast tracking to keep up with the ever changing feed in tarif changes and jump through all the hurdles to get over before we can start installing.
We have a good network of helpful school and leisure centre management,a very willing local installation company, and all local people involved in setting up the Kington Community Energy Co-operative.
We want to get it installed and start generating asap !
KLEEN is the Kington Local Environment and Energy Network - we meet every second Thursday of the month from about 7.30 onwards in the rear meeting rooms of the Oxford Arms Hotel , Duke Street, Kington - anyone who is interested will be very welcome !
We are developing working groups in Energy (saving and generation), Education, Planning and Transport, Waste management, Food and Farming - all with a focus on simply improving the environment where we are living, in a sustainable way.
There is likely to be some area that will interest you - take a look !
We are looking for other suitable local sites to create community energy projects on, preferably where these is an existing high power user on the site that we can assist.
