About this group

Autism Plus is a registered charity supporting people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), disabilities and other complex conditions.
The Exchange Brewery is a major move for us. We want to make sure we are as carbon neutral as possible. As this is an old building we are limited to what measures we can implement but by installing Photovoltaic cells, we can reduce our usage of non renewable energy. It also means generated funds through the FiT can help support our vitally needed services.
Our approach focuses on every individual we support. This is called person centred planning. At present Autism Plus supports 276 direct beneficiaries, with 131 people being supported through our core support services. But there are so many more people we want to help. An estimated 21,055 people in Doncaster and Sheffield have an ASD condition and we want to help them. Our help takes people on a journey of personal development and growth. We build confidence, skills, and independence. Our ultimate aim is to increase the 6% of people with ASD who are in full time employment, and help them lead independent fulfilling lives.
The Exchange Brewery in Sheffield will give us the space and scope to expand our services. As we work in partnership with a number of other not for profit organisations and charities through the Adsetts Partnership we are able to promote energy efficiency through this project to a wider audience.
