So now you’ve started thinking about saving money on your bills what other ways are there to cut down on energy usage and keep some of that cash in your pocket? The energyshare community is the perfect place to begin thinking about energy in a whole new way.
Save Energy
No matter how much we think we know about saving energy there is always more we could be doing. It’s not just about installing double glazing or insulating your home – although that certainly doesn’t hurt – there are dozens of small changes you could be making on a daily basis that will see significant reductions to your annual bills. For instance did you know that:
A family of four could save £100 by cutting time spent in the shower by 1 minute.
Turning appliances off rather than leaving them on standby could save £40
If everyone in the UK only filled the kettle with the water they needed we could collectively save over £1 million every week.

Get Involved
If this is all new to you don’t worry – you’re not alone. However there might be someone down your road who has been doing this kind of thing for years. Maybe they’re even generating their own energy. Energyshare has 65,000 members and counting across the whole of the UK and over 1000 local community groups.
Why not see if there’s a Group that you could join nearby? And if there isn’t you can easily start your own and invite your friends, family and neighbours to join. A group can be anything from a collective of people looking to get a better deal from local suppliers, a renewable energy cooperative, or a local community project. It’s also a great way to meet like-minded people.
