Brentfields is a development of approx. 50 dwellings that sits above Polperro harbour on the headland in South East Cornwall.
It is within an already designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and as such, any development needs to be sympathetic to the natural surrounds. It sits above the South West Coastal Path, facing out over the English Channel!
The Community was formed in the late 60's and is a Mixed Development of housing, primarily Bungalow styles, that rely almost totally on Fossil Fuels, Oil, LPG and Electricity.
The combined impact of older Design and Development as regards property at Brentfields , aged Building Regulations, escalating Energy costs and a Community of both retired and younger families , suggests to us as a Group that we are in urgent need of a Project to LIFT Brentfields into the 21st Century in order that it can survive.
In addition, the increasing pressures on the local population of Historic Polperro, who rely heavily on tourism and the attraction of the areas natural beauty, require as much help as can be found to assist it's survival for future generations.
An Energyshare Project centred on Brentfields with support toward Polperro, might well be the best opportunity the Community here has had in some time, to make a lasting impact and strengthen the Local economy!
To have the opportunity to do so by a Community comittment to reducing our Carbon Footprint and effecting a Shift into Renewable Energy Technology would be brilliant for everyone living here and for the future wellbeing of Cornwall!
